Suddenly becoming a caregiver for a loved one is a difficult job. You have little time to learn everything you need to know about mesothelioma and asbestos cancer. You need all the help and support with mesothelioma that you can get, not only care for your loved one but to sort through the vast amount of information about mesothelioma.

As a primary caregiver for someone with mesothelioma, you need to also care for yourself. It is important to gather all the resources available to you to garner support. The Mesothelioma Family Resource Center has compiled a list of resources to assist you in getting the support you need. While this list is not comprehensive, it will provide you with a beginning.

The National Alliance For Caregiving

A non-profit coalition of national organizations focusing on issues of family caregiving. Alliance members include grassroots organizations, professional associations, service organizations, disease-specific organizations, a government agency, and corporations.

Lotsa Helping Hands

The National Alliance for Caregiving created Lotsa Helping Hands after witnessing four years of awe-inspiring community support and response to a family member's serious medical crisis. Seeing how earnestly friends wanted to help, and juggling the difficulty of organizing their assistance, we designed Lotsa Helping Hands with the understanding of how to bring together a variety of social circles and what a resulting community like this would need. We have paid special attention to making this web service intuitive enough to begin using immediately.
